Dr. Trager received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He then completed his internship and residency at the University of Louisville. After his residency he went on to receive his fellowship training in hand and microvascular surgery at the Christine Kleinert Institute where the first hand transplant was performed. Dr. Trager went on to become Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He has been published in numerous journals including such as the Journal of Hand Surgery and Journal of Orthopedics. Before joining Cumberland Orthopedics he was an attending physician at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia from 1992 until 2003 and then at Pennsylvania Hospital. During this time Dr.Trager was active serving on many committees such as Medical Director of Orthopedic Clinic, Medical Board of Graduate Hospital, Medical Executive Committee, Medical Education Committee and Graduate Hospital Board of Directors.
Dr. Trager's practice interests include treatment of nerve compression syndrome as well as treatment of degenerative and traumatic conditions of the upper extremity including fractures and nerve and tendon repairs. He also performs joint replacement of the small joints. When not working Dr. Trager completed 8 ironman finishes and placed in the top 10 of the Ultraman World Championship race in 2004. He is married with 2 children.
