Gerald S. Packman, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Packman received his M.D. Degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He then entered a surgical internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by four years of Orthopedic Residency at the same hospital. Entering the U.S. Army in 1973, Dr. Packman was soon promoted from Captain to Major, and also received the Army Commendation Medal for bringing arthroscopy to Moncrief Army Hospital in Fort Jackson.

Achieving Board Certification in 1974, he went on to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In Cumberland County, his colleagues have elected him to serve a term as President of Newcomb Medical Staff, and also as President of the Cumberland County Medical Society. He was also named "Physician of the Year" at Newcomb Medical Center for 1999.

Dr. Packman's practice style includes discussion of the treatment recommendations and alternatives with the patient. He believes that an informed patient will not only be involved in medical decision making, but also of the treatment process.

Dr. Packman and Linda, his wife, live in Vineland. They have two children.
